MilkMan #4: Will Chase

Former Rent star Will Chase has been appearing on NBC’s Smash this season as the lecherous Michael Swift, ever ready to ditch his wife and young kid to advance his career in the fictional musical within the show called Marilyn, where he played the jilted Joe DiMaggio. With rugged good looks and a strong, voice full of range, Chase certainly enlivened the musical numbers he was in, but was kind of a witless, thin-skinned annoyance as his character.
Which, in the end, was probably the point, since he got fired from the fictional show in a recent episode and presumably won’t be back on the real show anytime soon. But we can still marvel at that voice, if not the face. Watch the clip above for his stirring solo One Song Glory from Rent.
